Salem Al-Dossary expels Martino from Mexico's training

Argentine Gerardo "Tata" Martino announced the end of his career with the Mexico national team, with immediate effect, despite Wednesday's victory over Saudi Arabia 2-1 at the end of the group stage of the Qatar 2022 World Cup in football.

The goal scored by Salem Al-Dosari in the last minutes of the two teams' meeting contributed to Mexico's exit from the group stage, by a goal difference from Poland, so that the Mexican national team failed to reach the final price for the first time since 1990.

"I am mainly responsible for the frustration and disappointment," Martino said. "It's a source of sadness but I take full responsibility for this failure. My contract expires at the final whistle, and nothing else can be done."

Martino, 60, assumed his duties at the helm of the Mexico national team in 2019, knowing that he supervised Barcelona in the 2014 season and did not achieve any significant success.
