31-year-old Emil Iversen thus gets to ride in the World Cup in Lillehammer, despite weak results in Ruka.

There he had the 39th best time in the pursuit start in freestyle.

Instead, Jan Thomas Jenssen, 26, was not selected, something he had expected.

Then Jenssen criticized the association.

- This is exactly what I don't understand very much.

It's too stupid to just say that Iversen is a national team skater, so he goes ahead of you regardless, Jenssen said of the selection.

"Almost like a trial"

Now Emil Iversen answers.

- People can say what they want, it's not me who selects the team.

- It's special, of course, it's almost like a trial to sit here and defend yourself, he says about having to defend that he's selected.

Iversen also talks about how it was after the competition in Ruka.

- First of all, it's not fun to be in the position of whether or not you should be allowed to drive.

I would have liked to go faster and I will work to make that happen, says Iversen.

The World Cup in Lillehammer takes place between December 2-4.
