Professional baseball, Yakult announced that McGuff pitcher, who contributed to the Central League consecutive victory, will leave the company.

According to the team, he wants to play in the big leagues.

Yakult announced on the 30th that he would not sign a contract with pitcher McGuff for the next season and would leave the team.

Pitcher McGuff is 33 years old from the United States.

He is a right-handed pitcher with a straight ball over 150km and a sharp curveball.

He joined Yakult in 2019 and played as a relief.

In the middle of last season, his third year in Japan, he became a suppressor and contributed to the league championship with 31 saves, which was 3rd in the league.

This season, his fourth year, he served as a suppressor from the opening, and marked 38 saves, which was second in the league, and the team won the league title in a row.

During his four years with the team, he pitched in a total of 236 games, recording 15 wins, 8 losses, and an ERA of 2.94 with 80 saves.

Masayuki Okumura, director of international group affairs, said McGuff's decision to leave the team was respected because he wanted to play in the major leagues.

Director Okumura said, ``Maybe there was a good offer. I am also proud,” he said.
