It was this summer that Börje Salming told us that he had been affected by ALS. On Thursday, he fell asleep in his home in Nacka, with his family by his side.

For Expressen, his daughter, also the track and field athlete, Bianca Salming tells about the week that has passed.

She then has difficulty articulating how she feels.

- That's the thing... It's so hard to take all this in.

In the beginning it was just sadness, an enormous sadness.

Then came the anger, you got angry sometimes.

And now everything is just unreal.

At the same time, it has felt unreal for a long time, ever since we received this announcement this summer, she tells the newspaper.

Exactly one week before Börje Salming died, he was present at the Time's hockey gala.

There he was awarded several prizes and he received a standing ovation from the entire Avicii Arena.

Before that, the family was also in Toronto, Canada and Börje Salming was celebrated, among other things in connection with a Toronto Maple Leafs match, which is the 71-year-old's previous club.

The love that the legend has received during the autumn has meant a lot to Bianca.

- It helps me so much.

But I'm mostly glad that Dad got to experience all of this before he passed away.

That's what I feel, she says, then adds:

- It's hard to talk about it... I'm so happy about people's appreciation, but for me it's kind of about my dad.
