It was late on Monday evening that the bomb arrived.

Then Juventus sent out a press release in which they announced that the entire board, including chairman Agnelli and vice chairman Pavel Nedved, was resigning.

The background is the investigation into economic crime, which the Italian prosecutor's office has been conducting for some time.

The club is being investigated for, among other things, false accounting and market manipulation between 2018 and 2020.

"Given the pending legal and financial issues, the members of the board believe that it is in the best interest of the company that Juventus appoints a new board to handle the matter," the club writes in a press release.
