With seven minutes left in regular time, substitute Niclas Füllkrug made it 1-1 with a powerful shot that found its way into the far left crossbar - completely unreachable for Unai Simon in the Spanish goal.

In the fifth minute of added time, Leroy Sané got free on the left wing but waited too long with the shot and it went out for a corner.

There, Sané came close to giving Germany the victory.

- It was really fun that both teams went for it in the last ten minutes, I hadn't expected that, says SVT Sports expert Glenn Strömberg.

At the end of the first half, Antonio Rüdiger headed the ball into the goal and the entire German team followed out to the corner flag to celebrate.

However, the VAR room detected a slight offside, with Rüdiger trying to delay his movement into the penalty area.

Spain's Dani Olmo had a heavy crossbar shot via Manuel Neuer's fingertips in the first half as well.
