It looked undeniably dark for Modo when Djurgården's Alexis Mauermann scored 2-0 in the first period on Sunday.
Modo's three-game winning streak was then under threat, but the turnaround was to come.
Just half a minute later Jennifer Wakefield reduced the score and towards the end of the third period Vendula Pribylova equalised.
Once in extra time, Modo's Linnea Andersson stepped forward with a sharp finish and made it 3–2.
Modo is fourth in the SDHL, two points behind Djurgården.
