Griezmann is proud to equal Zidane's achievement in the World Cup

Antoine Griezmann expressed his pride in equalizing the number of assists for the legend Zinedine Zidane with the French national team, and contributing to the victory over Denmark 2/1 today, Saturday, in the second round of the fourth group matches of the World Cup in Qatar.

Kylian Mbappe scored the winning goals for France, to advance his team to the World Cup round of sixteen.

Griezmann made the winning goal for Mbappe, raising his tally of assists with the French national team to 26 assists and equaling Zidane's achievement.

"I am very proud of that, but I assure you that it is the result of the team's work and not my work on the offensive or defensive level," Griezmann told TF1.

"Everyone made an exceptional effort today, it was very important to win and qualify," he added.

He concluded by saying, "We knew it would be a complicated match. We lost twice in the European Nations League. We did a lot of work together. Those who came back worked well. It's a very good win."
