Hector had 0.43 to the credit of Lara Gut-Behrami who led in the goal line and already by the first interval almost everything was gone, only 0.04 remaining.

Katharina Liensberger also passed during the final part and Hector was 0.20 behind at the finish in the tight battle for the top in the brilliant sunshine with the snow-free surroundings.

- I am so happy.

In the last two years, I have gotten better at giant slalom.

Last year I had problems with illnesses. I didn't have a good feeling on the snow, but it's nice to get such a good result so early in the season, says Gut-Behrami in Viaplay's broadcast.

The strong winds meant that the start was moved down and the course somewhat shorter than normal.

Alpine queen Mikaela Shiffrin, who won the Levis slalom twice, was pale and after two weak runs, only finished 13th when the World Cup was back in the US.

Estelle Alphand took World Cup points by finishing 26th.

To the results.
