Tunisia opens the Group D competitions against Australia, today, at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah, while the two teams are competing in the finals, away from the pressure of nominations to qualify for the second round.

The "Carthage Eagles" team started the World Cup with a victory-style draw against its stubborn Danish counterpart, who reached the semi-finals of the European Cup, while the Australian coach attributed his loss to France, despite opening the scoring, and he was only able to keep the advantage for 18 minutes, saying, "This is why they are world champions."

Tunisian reserve goalkeeper Bachir Ben Said overcame a muscle fatigue that almost threatened to hinder his participation on the eve of the tournament, to remain with the squad and sit on the bench against Denmark, while coach Jalal Al-Qadri decided not to include the star of the French national team and Montpellier Wahbi Khazri.

Al-Qadri explained his decision: “Al-Khazri is one of the distinguished elements for us and a very important player. Today we wanted to start the match with a striker who knows Danish football and has appeared at an excellent level, and he is Issam Al-Jabali.”

The "Carthage Eagles", in their sixth participation in the finals, were encouraged by more than 30,000 spectators, while Al-Qadri praised the mental support provided by the fans, stressing, "We did well tactically and physically."

In a match that is considered a major opportunity for one of the two teams to collect the three points, Tunisia may have enough potential and determination to eliminate the hopes of the "kangaroo" team, and preserve its chances of reaching the second round for the first time in its history.
