2018 World Cup finalists Croatia struggled to find any danger against a disciplined playing Morocco.

After a first half, which was poor in chances and waiting, two good chances came after 50 minutes.

First it was Morocco's Noussair Mazraoui who had a chance in the penalty area when he headed wide.

But Dominik Livakovic was on the scoresheet in the Croatian goal.

Mazraoui, who normally plays right-back at Bayern Munich, was injured when he landed badly after the diving header.

He grabbed his hip and had to be carried out on a stretcher.

A conversion immediately after that incident gave a Croatian opportunity where, after some pinball, the ball reached Dejan Lovren.

The shot was covered.

Achraf Hakimi fired a heavy shot in the 65th minute.

Livakovic had to box the ball away.

A dozen half-chances were had by both teams, but on the whole it was a match without hot chances at all.
