The reigning Olympic and World Cup gold medalist was forced to sit out last weekend's Swedish premiere in Bruksvallarna due to a cold.

That it would affect the World Cup premiere was already known, but now it turns out that the disease puts an end to more than that.

In consultation with the medical team and the national team leaders, Sundling has already decided to refuse next week's World Cup competitions in Lillehammer, Norway.

"To the right direction"

"The positive thing is that it has gone in the right direction and that I feel better.

I long to compete again but I will hurry slowly as my body is my tool to be able to perform.

So then it's important that I listen to it too," says Sundling in a press release.

She is now aiming to make a comeback in Betiostølen, Norway, 9–11 December.
