England's Jack Grealish has kept his promise to a fan, an 11-year-old boy with cerebral palsy, with a unique goal celebration at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Grealish scored the 6th goal in the 45th minute of the second half against Iran in the first leg of Group B of the tournament held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar on the night of the 21st (Korean time).
Afterwards, Grealish spread his arms outstretched and performed a unique ceremony where he shook and shook his shoulders wildly without any special beats or rules.
The British popular newspaper The Sun reported that the ceremony was a promise to a fan he met in England before coming to Qatar.
Fan Finlay, an 11-year-old fan of Grealish's team, Manchester City (England), suffers from cerebral palsy.
Finlay, who suffers from cerebral palsy along with his sister Holly, writes a letter to Grealish, who confirms this, and meets Finlay dramatically before leaving for Qatar.
Grealish said that if he scored a goal, he would hold a ceremony for Finlay.
Performing the ceremony exactly as requested, Grealish posted a picture of himself with his arms outstretched on Instagram after the match with the caption "This is for you Finlay."
Finlay responded in an interview with BBC Radio.
"He's my best friend. I love you, Grealish," said Finlay with delight.
For Grealish, this goal is also a welcome goal in about two months since the league match against Wolverhampton Wanderers last September.
England will play the second round of Group B against the United States at 4:00 am on the 26th.
