Iranian players refrain from performing the national anthem before facing England
The 11 players of the Iranian national team refrained from performing the national anthem during its playing, prior to the England match that kicked off this afternoon, Monday, in their first match in the Qatar 2022 World Cup in football, in solidarity with the protests taking place in the Islamic Republic.
The Iranian national team plays in the second group, which includes England, the United States of America and Wales next to it.
