A tragedy occurred at the arrival of the Route du rhum this Wednesday morning in Guadeloupe.
Two people died following the capsizing of a follower boat, according to the public prosecutor of Pointe-à-Pitre.
A judicial investigation has been opened for manslaughter, the prosecution said.
According to the Guadeloupe La Première television channel, the boat overturned one mile from the finish line.
11 people were on board, one of whom was trapped under the hull.
If all of them could be recovered by a Navy ship, two of them were in cardiorespiratory arrest and died.
