Loui Eriksson is one of only 15 Swedes who have played over 1,000 games in the NHL.

At most he scored 36 goals in one season, but in recent years he has been given a smaller and smaller role in his teams.

Last Thursday, it became clear that he is returning to Frölunda on a contract that extends to the end of the season.

It is welcomed by his new teammate Max Friberg.

- It will be very exciting.

I have met him a few times.

Really a great guy.

He has had so many good years away in the NHL.

It will be an addition.

It will be great fun to bring him to us in Frölunda and we will make sure to help him build up his game in a bigger rink.

It will be great fun, he says.

What do you think he can contribute on the ice?

- He is a skilled hockey player and he has scored a lot of goals over there in the NHL.

So partly the offensive, but he also has a lot of experience.

Eventually we want to go far in a playoff and then I think his routine will be very important.

Your power play hasn't really worked.

Do you think he can help there?

- Definitely.

The last time Eriksson played in Frölunda was the 2004-2005 season.

He has not played anywhere before this season.

Frölunda took a comfortable victory in the CHL (Nov 15):
