For a while it looked as if Modo would be able to beat the series leader Luleå at home.

When the first 20 minutes of the match were completed, the home team had the lead with 1-0 after Jennifer Wakefield sent in the first goal of the match just over eight minutes into the period.

In the second period, however, Luleå came to life.

Admittedly, it would take almost half the match before they got a payoff, but then it went away.

First, Petra Nieminen equalized on the power play, and then Viivi Vainikka and Jenni Hiirikoski each scored within 26 seconds, more or less killing the tension.

- It's a fairly even first period where Modo gets a goal, but we have a talk before the second period and then I think we go out and take over the match, says Luleå's Anna Kjellbin to C More.

In the end, Luleå won 4–1 after Ronja Savolainen scored the last goal of the match with four minutes left to play in regular time.

Thus, it was a victory in the first game for the new coach Jens Själin, who got a place in the management staff after Mikael Forsberg chose to leave the team a week ago.

- I am looking forward to getting to know Jens and seeing what he is up to.

He was in the training yesterday and the match today so it's still very new, but I think the future looks exciting, says Kjellbin.
