Tantholdt was broadcasting live from Qatar when security guards suddenly appeared.

- Now we are stopped filming, says Tantholdt in TV2's live broadcast before he turns to the security guards.

- You have invited the whole world to come here, why can't we film?

It is a public place.

Tantholdt then showed his accreditation badge and said that they have permission to film, then said:

- Do you want the camera broken?

So you threaten us by breaking the camera?

Got an apology in the end

The atmosphere then calmed down and Tantholdt later stated on Twitter that the Danish team had received an apology.

To TV2, Tantholdt says that the authorities in Qatar must get used to the world press coming to visit.

- They are afraid that some things will come to light.

Having traveled around 110 countries, my experience is that the more dirty laundry you have in the basement, which you don't want to show, the harder it is for us journalists to cover.

- They want to show a big football party and that everything is fine.

After the interrupted broadcast, TV2's television crew had to wait half an hour for a security manager to come and tell his employees that everything was in order.

- And then I almost got an apology, not quite though, but I got a glass of juice, so maybe it was some kind of apology, Tantholdt says and concludes:

- They are really not used to free press being in their country.
