The World Wrestling Federation has announced that next year's World Championships, which were to be held in Russia, will be moved to Serbia following the military invasion of Ukraine.

Next year's wrestling world championship was originally scheduled to be held in Russia, but following the military invasion of Ukraine, the IOC (International Olympic Committee) canceled or replaced the scheduled sports competitions in Russia and Belarus. He issued a statement calling for the event to be held locally.



In response to this, the World Wrestling Union announced on the 14th that the world championship will be held in Belgrade, Serbia, the same as this year.



Regarding the timing of the tournament, the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China have been postponed to September next year due to the influence of the new coronavirus, so they are adjusting to avoid duplication.



At the World Championships, those who finish in the top five in each weight category will be given a quota to participate in the Paris Olympics the year after next, and the Japan Wrestling Association will informally appoint athletes who have won medals as representatives of the Paris Olympics.
