World Cup 2022: Saudi Arabia receives Croatia in a friendly manner, before the sixth round

The Saudi national football team concludes its preparations for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, when it faces Croatia on Wednesday at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, in an international friendly match, the first between the two teams.

Al-Akhdar prepared for the World Cup through three stages, the first and second in Spain, during which he played 4 friendly matches, while the third stage was in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, where he set up a camp for 25 days, during which he played 5 friendly matches, winning two and drawing in three.

Saudi Arabia is participating in the World Cup for the sixth time, the best of which was the first in 1994 when it reached the round of 16.

It will play its first match in the World Cup next Tuesday against Argentina in Group C, which also includes Mexico and Poland.

Last Friday, the French coach, Herve Renard, announced the final list of 7 players who previously participated in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Ronar sent a motivational message to the players who were chosen, in which he said, “They described it as a frivolous game, a round ball full of air, but it changed all the rules, changed history, turned me into a warrior, fighting for your dreams and their dreams, this flame inside you, never give up, one day.” You will not get your chance, and then you will play for your family, for your country and everyone will see you, and then you will know that you deserve to be here.

And he continued, “You will immerse yourself in this game, and your life will have meaning, because you always have motivation, and you will know that the world will test you, but trust that your feet will always carry you, because this game is about moving with feet, moving forward, and advancing with your team to the top, some have to attack, and some have to Protect and watch, some to keep, some to defend, and as the voice that always echoes inside my head says, Forward warriors.'

It is expected that Ronar will introduce the basic elements that he will rely on in the official matches, especially after Salman Al-Faraj, Sultan Al-Ghannam and Saleh Al-Shehri recovered from injuries and reached readiness.

The striker, Fahd Al-Mawlid, was excluded from his country’s squad “as a precautionary measure” on Sunday due to the doping issue, and Nawaf Al-Abed was summoned instead.

As for the Croatian national team, the runner-up of the last edition, it considers the match a suitable test before facing the Moroccan national team on the 23rd of this month in a sixth group that also includes Belgium and Canada.
