The system for the draw in the women's Swedish Cup has been on the table before.

Unlike the men's seeding system (which is based on sporting results from the previous season), the women's are divided into geographical groups.

Two groups with teams from northern Sweden and two groups with teams from southern Sweden.

This means that several top teams can be pitted against each other directly in the group.

That's what happened on Monday, when the draw took place.

Want the system reviewed

Rosengård, Linköping, Kristianstad and Alingsås ended up in the same group.

So first, third and fourth from the women's league this year.

Afterwards, Linköping's coach Andrée Jeglertz criticizes the draw system.

- I question the fact that you have a geographical draw in this way.

There can be such big differences between the groups.

Do you think the system should be changed?

- Yes absolutely.

It should be looked into.

I fully understand that teams have financial challenges, but when the groups are as diverse as they are, you are doing something that is not right.

As it is now, it won't be right.

"Different economic conditions"

Kristianstad's sporting director Lovisa Ström is more reserved in her analysis.

- This has been discussed with the association for several years.

There are various reasons why the draw looks the way it does, as clubs have different financial conditions (which affects the possibility of long trips).

It will be an exciting group, she says.

SVT Sport has sought representatives from the Swedish Football Association without success.
