In addition to Norrköping and Karlstad, Lidköping/Skövde, Uppsala and Växjö also applied.
The SM week's steering group has decided to offer Norrköping the hosting of the SM week in summer 2025 and Karlstad SM week in summer 2026.

All the cities that applied meet the criteria and could organize a high-quality SC week.
It has been an incredibly tough process to select and agree on two cities.
It was small margins in fierce competition that made the decision in Norrköping and Karlstad's favor, says Stefan Bergh, secretary general of the National Sports Confederation.
Interest is growing stronger
The most important criteria for a host city are requirements for event areas and conditions for arranging first-class competitions, but the steering group also takes into account event strategy and how to work with the event's legacy.
- Norrköping, which organized a very successful SC week in 2016, presents exciting ideas on how to develop the concept further.
Karlstad has a central event area with great potential and opportunities to make the SM week very compact.
Both Norrköping and Karlstad also have a clear plan for how they will use the SC week to strengthen club life and develop regional sports, says Per Bergljung, event manager for the SC week at the Swedish Sports Confederation.
- The Swedish people's interest in the SM week grows stronger with each passing year and the SM week is today Sweden's third most popular sporting event.
We are therefore happy that these upcoming SC weeks will be decided in two cities that can deliver at the highest level for the television audience, all the spectators on site and above all for the athletes, says SVT's sports manager Åsa Edlund Jönsson.
Exact dates for the SM week summer 2025 and 2026 have not been decided yet.
