A total of 10 athletes (including 2 disabled athletes) were successfully elected out of 25 candidates. Chinese athlete Liu Shiwen is among them.

  There are 10 athletes' committee seats in this election. The election was held online from November 7th to 13th. A total of 283 athletes participated in the voting.

  The other 9 athletes elected at the same time as Liu Shiwen are: Elisabeta Samara (Romania, female), Salas Kamal Achanta (India, male), Danielle Rios (Puerto Rico, female) ), Omar al-Assar (Egypt, male), Melissa Tapp (Australia, female), Stephen Feiger (Austria, male), Joan Persson (Sweden, male), Ingra · Lundbeck (Sweden, female), Kelly Van Zon (Netherlands, female).

  The term of office of newly elected members is 4 years (2022-2026).

ITTF President Petra Sorin said: "I would like to thank all the athletes who participated and congratulate all the athletes who were elected. I look forward to working with them. The Athletes Committee is crucial because it brings athletes together. Contact the ITTF to ensure that the demands and views of the athletes are conveyed and communicated."

  It is understood that all newly elected members will be invited to attend the ITTF summit to be held in Amman, Jordan in December.

At that time, the ITTF Athletes Committee and the IOC Athletes Committee member Ryu Seung-min will elect two chairmen of the Athletes Committee, a man and a woman, who will also join the ITTF Executive Committee.
