Örebro's Leo Carlsson has broken through with a bang during this year's SHL season and accounted for 12 points in 17 games.

This weekend he played matches with the junior crowns before the JVM this winter.

There he stood for a delicious goal that echoed in the hockey world.

- It was pretty neat, you have to say, says Leo Carlsson about the hit.

Former player and podcaster Ryan Whitney wrote on Twitter:

"Everyone talks about Connor Bedard but I think Leo Carlsson will go second in this year's draft".

Tributes that Leo Carlsson appreciates.

- It's sick but at the same time just fun.

You try not to think about it too much.

It's about being able to take it with you in the right way.

How do you do it?

- It is difficult to take (the tributes) in a negative way.

It is important to be humble, to stay grounded.

Dreaming of JVM

Leo Carlsson has also been compared to a young Mats Sundin.

- It's just crazy fun.

Then you have done something good.

Just take it with you as positive energy.

I don't remember if he was playing when I started watching.

But you know he was a good player.

At the end of December, it's time for the JVM, which is played in Canada.

A championship that Carlsson has followed for a long time and which would be a big dream for the 17-year-old, who previously played, among other things, the U18 WC for Sweden.

Have you given the JVM much thought?

- You still have that.

It's a big thing that you've seen throughout your upbringing.

We'll see if I come along or not.

It would have meant a lot to be able to participate.

It is always an honor to play in the national team, but a JVM in particular, it is even greater, he says.

SVT participates and broadcasts JVM, which is played between December 26 and January 6.
