The ailing Thomas Müller and Antonio Rüdiger miss the World Cup dress rehearsal of the national soccer team in Oman.

National coach Hansi Flick ruled out the duo playing on Wednesday (6:00 p.m. CET, in the FAZ live ticker for the national team and on RTL) at the Sultan Kabus Stadium in Muscat.

“We see from day to day.

We assume that they will train with the team on Match Day minus four,” said Flick on Tuesday evening after the final training session for the DFB team, which the regulars were unable to compete in.

Müller and Rüdiger should be able to practice with the team again on Saturday.

On the following Wednesday, the DFB selection will play their first group game in Qatar against Japan.

Müller and Rüdiger had recently not played for FC Bayern and Real Madrid due to muscular problems and hip problems.

"Has many minutes in his legs"

Flick left it open whether Mario Götze will play for Germany again in Oman after a five-year break.

The national coach referred to the many appearances of the 30-year-old for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Götze also did not train with the team on Tuesday to control the load.

"I think everyone is excited.

What about Mario remains to be seen.

He has many minutes in his legs,” said Flick.

Substitute goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, who had not yet flown to Oman with the team on Monday due to gastrointestinal problems, should follow on Wednesday or travel directly to Qatar on Thursday.

The FC Barcelona goalkeeper is doing better again, reported Flick.

Captain Manuel Neuer, who has recovered from a shoulder injury, is expected to play in goal in Oman.
