Novak Djokovic said Monday, November 14, on the sidelines of the Masters in Turin, that his lawyers were negotiating with the Australian government to obtain a visa for the next Australian Open in January, but that he was still "in waiting" for a response.
"There is nothing official yet. We are waiting. They (his lawyers) are discussing with the Australian government, that's all I can say at the moment," said the Serb.
Refusing the anti-Covid vaccine, Djokovic had been detained upon his arrival in Melbourne last January and then expelled just before the start of the tournament.

Since then, Australia no longer requires visitors to be vaccinated against Covid-19, but the player with nine record titles at the Australian Open had also received a three-year ban.
The 2023 Australian Open is scheduled for January 16-29 in Melbourne.
