The "Dubai Running Challenge" sponsored by Mai Dubai, one of the most prominent activities of the "Dubai Fitness Challenge", will start next Sunday on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The event allows all participants and runners of all nationalities, ages and physical abilities to register for the experience.

A press release stated: “The fourth session of the (Dubai Running Challenge) offers participants the opportunity to choose between two tracks;

The first is 10 km long, and the other is 5 km long.

The 5 km long track begins on Sheikh Zayed Road, near the Museum of the Future, passes Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera, and ends near The Dubai Mall. It is a flat track suitable for runners of all ages and physical abilities.

As for the 10-kilometer track, it starts on Sheikh Zayed Road, near the (Museum of the Future), passes over the (Dubai Water Canal) bridge, then returns towards (Dubai World Trade Center), and ends on Al-Mustaqbal Street, near (Dubai International Financial Centre). It is suitable for more experienced runners.

And the statement stated: “All those wishing to participate must register and receive their participation number poster, without which it is not possible to join the Dubai Running Challenge, as this poster can be received from several centers throughout Dubai, namely:

Ibn Battuta Mall (India Court, near the Elephant Clock) and Dubai Hills Mall (first floor, and Deira City Center (second floor, near the Aloft Hotel) and participation number stickers are delivered during the aforementioned shopping centers’ working hours, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays of this week ».

The organizers urged the participants to commit to arriving at the specified time during the registration process, with a starting point for each track, which receives the participants starting at 4 am to ensure that everyone arrives before the start of the event at 6:30 am.

Dubai Metro stations will open their doors from 3:30 am, to provide the easiest way to come to and leave the Dubai Running Challenge site.

Making sure to carry a Nol card with a balance of at least 15 dirhams to use the metro. Participants in a 5-kilometer track can go to the Emirates Towers or Dubai International Financial Center metro stations to move from them to the starting point. Those wishing to participate in a 10-kilometer track They should go to the Dubai World Trade Center or Max metro station.

Last year's edition of the "Dubai Running Challenge" witnessed the participation of 146,000 people, either running, walking, or jogging, setting a record for the number of participants in the largest community sporting event for running in the world.

It is expected that more participants will join the event this year, as Sheikh Zayed Road will be decorated in green thanks to the participants wearing the “Dubai Running Challenge” t-shirt provided by “Sun & Sands Sports”.
