Already in September, it was clear that Andreas Brännström, who was recruited to Mjällby ahead of this season, had canceled his 1+1 year contract with the club, which finished in ninth place in the Allsvenskan.

Instead, he was presented last week as the new AIK coach.

Now it is clear that he will be replaced by Anders Torstensson, who was the team's head coach on two different occasions, most recently last year.

- It is a great honor to once again be trusted to lead my parent club Mjällby AIF.

The association continues to develop and I look forward to being part of this development and have as a personal goal to contribute to the continuity of the work both on and off the field, says Torstensson on the club's website.

"Clear and capable leader"

The association's chairman, Magnus Emeus, sees several reasons why Torstensson is a good choice as a coach.

- In Anders we get a person with a very good knowledge of what Mjällby AIF is and stands for, as he has worked in the association for large parts of his life, both as a player and as a coach.

Anders is a clear and capable leader who is good at using the skills around him to reach set goals, he says, and adds:

- Everyone who knows Anders also knows that he is a good tactician and a real competitive person who really loves to win football matches.
