World Cup 2022: Sanchez announces the official Qatar national team squad

Qatar national football team coach Felix Sanchez announced yesterday the final list to participate in the 202 World Cup finals, which will be hosted by "Al Annabi" on his soil from November 20 to December 18.

The list included 26 players without any surprises, after the Spanish coach kept most of the players who have long been in the team under his command since he took over the technical management, including main pillars such as Akram Afif, Al-Moez Ali, Hassan Al-Haydos and goalkeeper Saad Al-Sheeb, while defender Boualem Khoukhi was on the list. Despite the recent rumors about his injury.

The coach had chosen 27 players to enter the final stage of preparation for the World Cup during a camp that the team entered in the Spanish city of Marbella since the beginning of last October. The final list witnessed the exclusion of one player, Abdul Rahman Fahmy, Al Duhail player, who was not among the main choices of coach Sanchez.

It is expected that the Qatari team will leave Spain on the 13th of this month to enter a closed camp to put the final touches before the start of the World Cup campaign against the Ecuadorean team at the opening on November 20 in the first group competitions, which includes the Dutch and Senegalese teams.

During the Spain camp, the Qatari team had five unofficial friendly confrontations outside the periods listed on the FIFA agenda, in which it won all, as it defeated Honduras, Panama and Albania with the same result (1-0), and beat Nicaragua 2-1 and Guatemala 2- zero.
