“Unfortunately, under the current conditions, it is impossible to hold the Ice Hockey World Cup in February 2024.

We continue to plan for the next World Cup and hope to host it in February 2025,” the NHLPA said.

The last KM was held in 2016 in Toronto, Canada.

The Russian team lost to the hosts of the tournament with a score of 3:5.

In February 2022, the IIHF suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus from participation in international competitions for an indefinite period.

In May, the organization extended the suspension of Russia from all tournaments until 2023 and withdrew the right to host the 2023 World Cup in St. Petersburg.

Earlier, Vice-Chairman of the Swedish Hockey Association Peter Forsberg said that all European federations opposed the participation of the Russian team in the World Cup.
