Zach Stephen is one of the most excluded from the list of the US national team in the World Cup 2022

Manchester City goalkeeper Zach Stephen was among the most prominent players excluded from the list of 26 players for the US national team that will participate in the World Cup in Qatar, which was announced by Greg Berhalter, coach, this morning.

The list included Christian Pulisic, Chelsea player, Weston McKinney, Juventus player, Sergino Dest, AC Milan player, and Leeds United duo Brendan Aronson and Tyler Adams.

The US team is in Group B at the World Cup with the teams of Wales, England, and Iran.

Stephen, loaned to Middlesbrough from Manchester City, was absent, as the trio of Matt Turner, Shawn Johnson and Ethan Horvath was chosen to be the three guards for the US team.

The list also included Fulham defender Tim Reem, along with striker Haji Wright, while 19-year-old striker Ricardo Pepe was absent from the list, along with Paul Areola and Jordan Pivok.

The US team will open its World Cup campaign against Wales on November 21, before facing England and then Iran.
