Cameroon relies on Bayern striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting for the World Cup.
The 33-year-old forward is part of the 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar (November 20 to December 18), the national association announced.
With a series of goals, Choupo-Moting has been in good form recently and is therefore one of Cameroon's hopes for the World Cup tournament alongside midfielder André-Frank Zambo-Anguissa (26) from SSC Napoli.
Midfielder Gaël Ondoua from second division club Hannover 96 also made it into coach Rigobert Song's squad.
Seven Bundesliga players for Switzerland
Switzerland is embarking on the World Cup adventure with seven Bundesliga players.
Also present is the currently injured goalkeeper Yann Sommer from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
This was announced by coach Murat Yakin on Wednesday at the presentation of his 26-strong squad.
The squad also includes Gregor Kobel (Borussia Dortmund), Nico Elvedi (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Edimilson Fernandes, Silvan Widmer (both FSV Mainz 05), Djibril Sow (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Ruben Vargas (FC Augsburg).
The squad is led by former Bayern Munich player Xherdan Shakiri (Chicago Fire FC), who will be contesting his sixth major tournament for Switzerland.
A Gladbacher in Team USA
With Giovanni Reyna from Borussia Dortmund and, surprisingly, Joe Scally from Borussia Mönchengladbach, the USA travel to the World Cup.
The squad also includes former Dortmund Bundesliga professional Christian Pulisic (Chelsea FC) and Weston McKennie, who switched from FC Schalke 04 to Juventus Turin.
At the squad announcement on Wednesday in New York, Ricardo Pepi, on loan from FC Augsburg to FC Groningen, was absent despite his three goals in the World Cup qualifier.
Surprisingly, goalkeeper Zack Steffen was not nominated either.
The Manchester City pro has already played for Fortuna Düsseldorf in the Bundesliga and has long been number 1 in the US goal.
The 19-year-old defender Scally, on the other hand, was not used in the World Cup qualifiers, but is a regular in Gladbach after a good season so far.
Superstars lead Équipe Tricolore
Led by the superstars Kylian Mbappé and Karim Benzema and with five Bundesliga professionals, soccer world champion France travels to the World Cup.
The squad announced by national coach Didier Deschamps on Wednesday includes Bayern players Lucas Hernández, Benjamin Pavard, Dayot Upamecano and Kingsley Coman as well as Christopher Nkunku from cup winners RB Leipzig.
Deschamps nominated 25 instead of the allowed 26 professionals for the finals, he is missing, among other things, the injured N'Golo Kanté.
Neymar, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain in France, will in turn lead the Brazilian national team.
With nine attackers, including young strikers like Vinicius Jr. and Real Madrid's Rodrygo, there is hope for an attacking Seleção.
"We favor important players from midfield to attack, but there's nothing like a balanced team," Tite said of his squad.
"To win at a high level you have to create opportunities and score goals." A big surprise was the nomination of 39-year-old veteran Dani Alves from Mexico City's UNAM Pumas.
Hope for old stars
Wales' national football manager Robert Page, meanwhile, has brushed aside doubts about the fitness of superstar Gareth Bale.
"He has shown time and time again that he delivers as soon as he puts on the national shirt." Bale, 33, will captain the Welshmen into the tournament.
Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni, meanwhile, is yet to accept the prospect of future World Cups without Lionel Messi.
Scaloni told CNN Radio Argentina: "It may be the last, I hope not." Last year Messi won the Copa America under Scaloni and thus his first major title with the Albiceleste.
