World champions climb 1,334 steps in the Emirates Towers in Dubai

The participants in the Dubai Holding Sky Run 2022 are making final preparations to participate in one of the most important races on the annual calendar of the Dubai Sports Council. The world's most famous staircase for the International Running Federation, which will witness great enthusiasm among the runners next Saturday.


The Dubai Holding Sky Run 2022 will be held in partnership with the International Vertical Running Federation, the Dubai Sports Council and the Al Jalila Foundation, in addition to the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, which hosts the event, and is considered a major event in the ongoing Dubai Fitness Challenge. over the course of a month.


The race this year will include three categories for participation: elite runners, open participation, and teams, where it is required that each team consists of 4 participants, and the participants will be required to climb 52 floors, which is equivalent to 1,334 stairs, all the way to the top of the office tower building in Jumeirah Emirates Towers, and the race is open to professional and amateur runners alike.

All proceeds will go to the Al Jalila Foundation's "Hope Council".


21 professional elite runners, including 40-year-old Australian Cindy Reed, who has a career spanning more than 12 years, will take part in this first-ever International Vertical Running Federation World Championships.


The daily "Read" exercises include running for a distance of 5 kilometers and climbing stairs, in addition to other exercises to strengthen the muscles of the body, especially the muscles of the legs.


Cindy Reed said: "Vertical running relies heavily on the muscles of the lower body, but relies entirely on mental focus."
