At the same time as the Swedes begin the season in Idre, for the third year in a row, neighboring Norway is getting ready for the premiere in Sjusjön.

But it has not been a painless planning for the organizer.

First it was announced that the competition would be moved to the Birkebeineren due to the larger snow layer from last year's season.

But on Sunday, with less than a week to go, the announcement was withdrawn.

The solution to carry out the premiere in Sjusjön?

Transport 100 truckloads with a total of 2,000 cubic meters of artificial snow from the Birkebeiner, which should be enough for the 1.5 kilometer track.

This is because the weather is too mild to produce artificial snow, directly on site.

- It says a lot about the forces winter sports are fighting against on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, it feels a bit desperate to carry out a national season premiere based on these premises, says NRK's sports commentator Jan Petter Saltvedt.

SVT Sport broadcasts from all over Sweden the premiere starting at 9.30, both Saturday and Sunday.

The competition weekend also marks the start of the Winter Studio.
