Daniel Bäckström has coached Sirius since 2021. Since then, there have been two straight eleventh places in the Allsvenskan.
But there will be no continuation next season.
Recently, there have been rumors that the 34-year-old has been considered for the job as coach for the U21 national team.
Something that is now becoming a reality.
- First of all, I want to thank club director Christer Abrahamsson and sports manager Ola Andersson who chose to bet on me two years ago.
I paid back by working my best every single day as head coach of the club.
It has been two instructive and developing years and it has been a cool thing to follow the development around the club;
this applies to both the organization, the player and management staff and not least what has happened on the supporter side since the audience was allowed to return in the summer of 2021. That's where Sirius really starts to measure up to the biggest in Sweden, says Daniel Bäckström to the club's website.
The club also announces that assistant coaches Theodor Olsson and Petter Hansson will lead the team until further notice.
