- Finally it's time again, season 16!

Longing as always for winter, to be reunited with our experts, the viewers and broadcast winter sports on the weekends, says Vinterstudion's presenter Yvette Hermundstad.

Like last season, Vinterstudion's main focus is on the viewers' most popular winter sport: biathlon.

The World Cup broadcasts, which attract an audience of millions, premiere on November 29 in Kontiolahti, Finland, and here compete popular profiles such as the sisters Hanna and Elvira Öberg, Stina Nilsson, Sebastian Samuelsson and Martin Ponsiluoma.

Vinterstudion broadcasts the entire World Cup in biathlon as well as the EC and WC.

Johansson Norgren new expert

Last season Ski Classics – the long-distance cup in cross-country skiing – was back in Vinterstudion and quickly became popular with the audience.

This year, the leading female long-distance skier of all time, Britta Johansson Norgren, who ended her career this spring, makes her debut as an expert in the Winter Studio.

- I hope to contribute with experience about what it's like to run the long races and the tactical game out in the tracks.

The season feels really exciting with several big Swedish teams and after a content-rich silly season, it feels more open to the season than ever, says Britta Johansson Norgren.

This year, one of the world's best cross-country skiers of all time, Norwegian Petter Northug, will make his debut in Ski Classics and will be seen on SVT's broadcasts.

The winter masters are back

It will also be alpine during the Winter Studio season.

SVT shows a total of twelve competitions from the World Cup from some of the most classic locations such as Kitzbühel and St Anton.

In addition, there will be cross-country skiing from the season premiere in Bruksvallarna, the SM competitions in Skövde and the interesting junior WC in Canada.

In addition to the competitions themselves, the quiz show Winter Masters is making a comeback.

- We have some new beautiful profiles and it is now being screwed like hell on questions.

In addition, we work more closely with our newsroom to get more interesting in-depth information about winter sports, says Marcus Törngren, project manager for Vinterstudion.
