At a press conference held today (10th), one day before the final evaluation match against Iceland, coach Paulo Bento emphasized that "Heung-Min Son will be included in the final entry of course."

When asked about the possibility that Son Heung-min, who had undergone surgery for an orbital fracture, will miss the first match against Uruguay at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Bento said with a firm expression, "It's not the time to say that. It's still in the distant future."

Next, coach Bento said, "I will help Son Heung-min recover as quickly as possible. Son Heung-min will of course be selected for the final entry. I will check it every day and make the best choice (related to the appearance)."

Regarding the fact that Son Heung-min announced on SNS the day before that he would stand on the World Cup stage even wearing a face mask, Bento said, "Heung-min Son has always been like that. In the past, he tried to compete in a game despite an injury."

This is the first time Bento has confirmed whether or not to select a player before the official roster announcement.

Bento said, "It's not good" regarding the physical condition of Kim Jin-su (Jeonbuk), the left full-back, who suffered a hamstring (muscle behind the thigh) injury at the end of the season at his team.

In this regard, he also criticized the Korea Football Association for arranging the FA Cup match schedule.

The evaluation match between Korea and Iceland kicks off at 8 pm on the 11th at the Hwaseong Sports Complex Main Stadium in Gyeonggi-do.
