The star-studded team, which won the NBA title as recently as 2020, has had a miserable start to the season with just two wins in the opening ten games.

Only two teams in the league have a worse record: the Houston Rockets and the Orlando Magic, with two wins and nine losses.

But the expectations are of course higher for a team that contains names like LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook.

Coach Darvin Ham, who took over the Lakers ahead of this season, is promising a break from the trend, however.

- You can write this down and quote me: This may happen now while we are trying to bring about a cultural change in the club, but it will not always be like this.

We will get out of this, he says according to ESPN.

- We will fight through this and come out the other side as a better team.

Missed playoffs last year

Last season, the team surprisingly missed the playoffs, but in their defense, the team was pulled with severe injury problems.

This season has started even worse.

- Shit.

2-8 (lowest match result, reds note) is tough to swallow.

It can of course change.

I think New Orleans was 1-12 last year and came back.

We have to make it work.

Offensively, there is rhythm, but we have lost the intensity on the defensive end, and that knocks us down, says Anthony Davis.
