The French ambassador to Qatar, Jean-Baptiste Vivre, announced that at least ten thousand French fans will attend the World Cup and that 300 French soldiers and police will participate in securing it, rejecting the idea of ​​"boycotting" the football wedding.


In a television interview broadcast on Monday evening, the French ambassador was a guest on the local sports channel "Al Kass", where he spoke extensively and in perfect Arabic about his country's position on the calls made to boycott the World Cup, whose first match begins on the 20th of this month.


Lefevre pointed to a recent opinion poll conducted in his country, which showed that "60 percent of the French will watch the World Cup, and this means 10 percent more than the percentage in the World Cup in Russia."

The French ambassador also revealed that his country will send 300 personnel from the Ministries of Defense and Interior to Qatar to participate in ensuring the security of the World Cup.
