The Houston Astros won the Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series.

The team from Texas achieved the fourth win they needed on Saturday evening (local time) against the Philadelphia Phillies with a 4-1 win in the sixth game of the series.

At 73, Dusty Baker became the oldest coach to win a championship in one of North America's four major sports leagues.

"What's next?

I said if I win one, I want to win a second," Baker said after his first title in 25 years as MLB head coach.

Astros pro Jeremy Pena not only won the title in his freshman season, but also became the third rookie to be named World Series Most Valuable Player.

It's the second title for the Astros after 2017, when the team was found to have cheated.

"All the things that we've been through in the last three years are hopefully over," Baker said. "You have to put it behind you."

After their first triumph five years ago, the Astros had emerged from the World Series as losers three more times.

Nevertheless, they are despised by many baseball fans: On the way to winning the 2017 title, the Astros stole the signals of the opposing teams, which the league then punished - if not with the withdrawal of the title.
