Linn Grant has had an incredibly impressive 2022. Before the year, she had not won any competition on the European Tour, but this year she has won no less than four such competitions.

In addition, during the spring she won three competitions on the South African Sunshine Ladies Tour.

Now she has taken the step over to the LPGA tour, and impresses there as well.

At the Japan Classic in Shiga, Japan, 23-year-old Grant put in a fine performance and finished third, five strokes behind Scottish winner Gemma Dryburgh – who thus took her first win on the LPGA tour.

- I can't understand it, to be honest.

"It's been a dream for a long time and I've worked hard for it, so it means a lot," said Dryburgh in the victory interview a few minutes after the title was secured.

Lost second place on hole 18

For Grant, who finished at -15 overall, it was a fine final round with no less than eight birdies, but also two bogies.

She accounted for a couple of really qualified strokes, but lost second place after a bogey on the 18th and final hole.

But it was still enough for a new personal best, as she previously finished fourth on the LPGA tour, at a competition in Northern Ireland earlier this year.

That competition was included on both the European Tour and the LPGA Tour.
