Emirati boxer Fahad Al Balushi makes history in the "Champions Series" in Abu Dhabi

The Emirati boxer in the flyweight category, Super Fahd Al Balushi, made history by achieving the first Emirati victory in the opening of the Champions Series hosted by Abu Dhabi within the framework of the new partnership between the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi and Match Room Boxing.

Al-Balushi defeated Georgian Eraki Sharishvili, unanimously by the judges, enhancing his tally of the winning streak to 11 wins in 12 fights.

In a press statement after the victory, Al Balushi expressed his great happiness with the victory, and added: “I feel that I am above the clouds of happiness, and the feeling of joy doubled after I left amid the cheers of the fans. Huge crowds roaring and shouting my name, I felt like a superhero."

And he added, "I dedicate the victory to my country, the UAE, and I made my mother and father very proud and happy."

It is noteworthy that the historic victory of the UAE champion, Fahd Al Balushi, came at the start of the night of the great fight for the International Boxing Federation's light heavyweight title, which is hosted by the UAE capital for the first time tonight, November 5, and combines the current champion of Russia, Dimitri Bevol, and Mexican Gilberto Ramirez.
