Hwang Seon-woo, who was assigned to Lane 4 in the final after finishing first in the 100m butterfly qualifying round despite suffering from a cold, had a close battle with Lane 6 Yang Jae-hoon, the Korean record holder in this event.

The first 50m section passed in second place, 0.14 seconds behind Yang Jae-hoon, and played a reverse game with a terrifying back heart.

He took the lead from the 60 m mark, mercilessly cleaving the water, and on his last stroke he stretched out his arms and hit the touchpad at 51.99.

Yang Jae-hoon also broke his previous Korean record, but Hwang Seon-woo was 0.32 seconds faster.

Hwang Seon-woo advanced the previous Korean record by 0.34 seconds in two years, setting the record for 51 seconds for the first time as a Korean player.

[Hwang Seon-woo/National Swimming Team: I was really worried because I didn't get well from a cold and my physical condition was not good, but I think I'm really happy that the new record came out in Korea, so I feel really good.]

Park Tae-hwan's records in the 100m freestyle and 200m Hwang Seon-woo, who is writing a new history in Korean swimming by replacing it, now holds the Korean record in 8 events including individual medley, butterfly, and relay for a new challenge.

Hwang Seon-woo will compete in the main event, the 200m freestyle, tomorrow (the 5th).
