Last year, Hanna Lundberg broke through in the world of orienteering when she, unseeded, won the middle distance at the World Cup in Idre last year.

That's why Swedish super talent Hanna Lundberg, 20, was extra devastated when she was forced to withdraw from the sprint at the senior WC in Kolding this summer due to injury.

Two weeks ago she was back in the World Cup but washed herself when she ran into a prohibited area.

Today she was able to participate in her first championship of the year, JVM in Portugal.

The championship, which would have been decided during the summer, was postponed due to the extreme heat and fires in the country.

- Of course I'm happy to have this second chance, she says after the finish line.

Double Swedish

In today's middle distance, Lundberg won gold, ahead of compatriot Elsa Sonesson.

- I have done everything I can to be prepared.

It was so much fun, it was fast and fun and we in the Swedish team were well prepared.

The fact that it is a junior race does not affect her preparations.

- I try to prepare just like in the senior races, it is still a map and a challenging track.

It's up to me to have a good race, says Lundberg.
