An amateur team in France suffered an awful defeat, to say the least, in the third round of the Futsal Cup competition, known as "Fotosal".

Grand Limpes 38, who played his first match in his history, lost 0-58 to his counterpart Lyon Fedisien, according to the French newspaper "leparisien".

The newspaper described this defeat as "the most brutal victory in the history of futsal", especially as it came against a team that appears for the first time.

58-0

The Grand Limpes 38 team, which was founded last summer, conceded 58 goals over the two halves of the match (20 minutes per half), with a goal every 42 seconds, a statistic that at first glance seemed illogical, and attracted the attention of the French media.

Despite this disastrous outcome, club president Alexandre da Silva, who holds the goalkeeper position at the same time, confirmed that his team is not ashamed.

Da Silva said: "It was a pleasure that we played our first match, this result is difficult but at the same time good, I personally really enjoyed the match."

He added, "We knew in advance that we were going to concede a lot of goals. As a team, we didn't know each other on the pitch."

Da Silva continued: "The team players work and have jobs, so not all of them can come to training, so it was logical that we lost our first match."

The goalkeeper concluded with a laugh: "At a certain point, I stopped counting goals, even the referees told me that. This match will remain in the memory forever."

The winner did not publish the result

In turn, Amaury Barlett, president of Lyon Fedissian, commented on the match by saying: "Our team played seriously and respected their opponent until the end, and the strange thing is that the referees did not blow their whistle, announcing any error."

Barlett continued: "Out of respect for our opponent, we did not want to announce the result on our official accounts on social media, not even on the official website."
