The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai and Careem Bike have launched an initiative to provide free bikes to residents and visitors who do not own their own bikes and wish to participate in the activities of the Dubai Bicycle Challenge (Dubai Ride).

The initiative will allow participants to borrow free bikes from two locations, the first: The Museum of the Future (Entrance A from Trade Center Street).

The second location is from the ground entrance E (the financial center next to the Al-Morouj Kindergarten Building A).

This initiative aims to strengthen the partnership between the Roads Authority and Careem, introduce the public bike sharing program in Dubai, and enable people who do not own private bikes to participate in this event.

Through this initiative, the Roads and Transport Authority seeks to shed light on the Emirate of Dubai and promote it as the most bicycle-friendly city in the world, by enabling tourists to participate in this event, as well as enhancing the lifestyle and fitness of the population in general, and raising public awareness. And the adoption of flexible mobility services for work, leisure and exercise.

Basel Al Nahlawi, Director General of Transport Affairs at Careem, said that Careem Bike stations reach 175 stations in Dubai, and free bikes will be provided to those who come first to use them.

The surcharge will be waived for those who rent bikes from other stations, exclusively for Dubai Ride participants.

Dubai Ride tracks open at 5:00 am, and all cyclists start their ride at 6:30 am and finish at 7:30 am.
