Emirates Al-Youm learned that the international football referee, Ammar Al-Junaibi, is absent from leading the ADNOC Professional League matches for unknown reasons, as he has not refereed any match since the start of the season last September, and the exception was when he managed the Al-Wahda and Kalba meeting last October, within the Cup Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, while on the other hand, managed 17 matches in the league last season.

A question revolves around the reason for the absence of a ruler like Ammar Al-Junaibi, who has held the international badge since 2011, despite his great experience, and has been among the “elite rulers” in Asia since 2013.

Al-Junaibi is considered one of the most prominent names nominated to manage matches in the 2026 World Cup, given the advanced level of arbitration he has been providing in the past period, and his distinctive appearance in many important matches he led, whether as a referee or video referee.

In addition to his local distinction, Al-Junaibi has previously managed the matches organized by the AFC, whether in the “Asia Champions” or the AFC Cup.

In addition to his career with arbitration, Al-Junaibi works as a dentist.

One of the most prominent arbitration stations in Al-Junaibi’s career was his presence in the recent Club World Cup that was held in Abu Dhabi, where he participated as a video assistant referee in leading the final match that brought together Chelsea and the Brazilian Palmeiras, and participated in the Arab Gulf Cup 23 and 24, and the 2019 Asian Cup finals in the UAE, In addition to his leadership of many big and important matches in the AFC Champions League, as well as the big matches in local leagues, including the Cup and the ADNOC Professional League.

• He led one game since the start of the current season, in the ADIB Cup.
