Rashford header gives United victory over West Ham

Marcus Rashford's 100th goal for Manchester United in all competitions, which he scored in the first half, was enough for his team to win 1-0 at West Ham United in the English Premier League on Sunday.

After a slow start to the game, United in the 38th minute smashed into the lead when Rashford smashed into the net to finish off Christian Eriksen's superb pass and put the hosts ahead.

Veteran striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who started only for the third time in the league this season, missed a golden opportunity to double the lead of United early in the second half and fired wide from goal from a good position, before West Ham increased their pace.

The visitors increased the pressure as the match went on, and David de Gea intervened twice to deny West Ham substitute Michael Antonio the scoring.

De Gea gave a remarkable performance in keeping the ball both times.

De Gea made a superb save again to Declan Rice's attempt in the last moments of the match, preserving United's victory that pushed him to overtake Chelsea to fifth place in the standings, one point ahead of Newcastle United in fourth place.

West Ham remained 13th.
