Klopp regrets Liverpool's inability to control matches

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp marveled at his team's inability to control matches this season after conceding a late goal from struggling Leeds United to lose 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday in the English Premier League, despite the hosts' control.

Liverpool conceded an early goal and then recovered to equalize through Mohamed Salah, possessing nearly 70 percent and hitting ten times on goal, but he stood idly in front of the end of a series of 29 matches without losing at home.

"It's a setback for sure," Klopp told Sky Sports. "I think we had a really good start and then conceded a quick goal."

The German coach added, "We scored a draw, but for some reason the goal did not give us safety. We struggled to control the match and wasted a lot of balls. The players are tired, we possessed well and had dangerous chances, but in the end if the draw was 1-1 and the defense like this in the second goal leaves all Things are open."

Klopp's team created 22 scoring opportunities, but due to injuries and illness, he was deprived of prominent players, especially in the attack, which lacks Diogo Jota.

Liverpool will play Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton in the league before the World Cup next month, leaving no time for Klopp to find quick solutions to his team's mediocre condition.

He said, "We have had problems since the first day of the season, we suffer from injuries and players had to participate from the first day, this is our situation and means that we have to help ourselves and this is what we will do."
