Yoo Young (18 years old, Surigo), a representative of the Korean figure skating women's singles, won the bronze medal in the senior grand prix competition, where she participated for the first time this season.

Yoo Young scored 125.05 points in the women's single free skating 'Skate Canada International', the second round of the 2022-2023 ISU (International Skating Federation) Senior Grand Prix held in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

As a result, Yoo Young added her short program score (65.10 points) and finished third with her final score of 190.15 points.

Japan's Rinka Watanabe (197.59 points) was the winner of this tournament, and American star Andrews (191.26 points) took second place.

Yooyoung tried her first jumping task, the main weapon triple axel, and was judged to be downgrade (when the number of rotations of the jump was 180 degrees or less).

She landed successfully, but her base and performance points (GOE) were deducted as a result of her lack of spins.

Yooyoung received a total score far below her own personal best (223.23 points) with a deductible factor from her four jumps.

After a rather disappointing result on her first stage, Yoo Young is aiming for her senior grand prix final through the 4th Senior Grand Prix to be held in Sheffield, England from the 11th of next month.
